Tangiers - Morocco
$0.00“Come with me to the Casbah!”
Who said those immortal words, in which movie, or book?
They certainly capture the magic of what lies ahead when you chose to visit this beautiful city on the water. For such a small country, Morocco is blessed with several “major” cities, all with their own real and distinctive feelings and fabulous flavors.

Chef Mavro: Honolulu, Hawaii
$0.00Chef Mavro was born in Marseilles, the capital of Provence. The moment he arrived over 20 years ago in Hawaii, he knew this was home for him. It was that feeling, the experience he felt immediately. As I researched about this chef, my favorite photo of him is the fruit tree one. It says a lot about him.

Day 1: Portland, Oregon - Staying at the Westin- Alder Street hotel is such a rough way to travel…
$0.00Being on the 19th (Penthouse) floor; the water seems hotter, the maid service faster and even the soap seems frothier than the norm. After traveling to the hotel in style via Media Escort, we were treated to express check- in and rapidly whisked up to our rooms, where the management had laid out a welcoming spread of cheese, crackers and Willamette Valley Pinot Gris for our favorite author-who also happens to be my mom- Joanne Fluke.

Beau Prepares for the Patrol
$0.00Beau wants to let everyone know that he is working hard to get ready for full participation in the Pet Patrol. He has already been in training with his daddy and big sis Susie. The little dickens has already mastered “Sit” and “Down,” and has had a perfect score the past 10 days on going potty in his potty box filled with horse bedding material. He also is learning “No,” “Off,” and “Leave it.” The little smarty even understands “get all the way in your box” when he tries to do a lazy two paws in and two out when he pees.

$0.00Blog #2 : The Pre Launch Party
(Yes, I know… I know, this should have been the first blog I wrote for BoomerTravelPatrol.com; but hey… nobody said I was the writer in the family)
Anyway, here we go!
Held at the beautiful “Grand Ballroom” at the Canoga Park Elks Lodge # 2190 in Canoga Park Ca, this preview party was just way too much fun. A very homey and friendly small-town feel meet and great, the party was the perfect kick-off for the “Blackberry Pie Murder”- the #17 in the Hannah Swensen Mystery Series- for Hannah Swensen, (Joanne Fluke’s cookie-baking, coffee-shop-owning, murder-solving title character) and all of her “Hannah-Maniacs” and “Fans O’ Hannah” from all over the country.

Suklyabashi Jiro: Tokyo, Japan
$0.00This is a very tiny sushi bar in Tokyo that makes the best sushi in the entire world. It is a 3 time Michelin star winner. The cost of 20 pieces is around 300.00 and they do not take credit cards here! This is not a place you will find California rolls. I have grown to love and even crave sushi and this is the best for just that. There are only 10 seats here, near a subway station, so you can imagine why this is the hardest reservation to make ever. It takes up to a year!

Artmore Hotel: Atlanta, Georgia
$0.00Here's my question – do you think you can stay in a boutique hotel in mid-town Atlanta for under $200? The answer is a resounding YES! Now is it going to be 5 star – no, but how about 3 star in the best possible way? Check yourself into the Artmore Hotel built in 1924, sitting among the high rise buildings across from a MARTA station. Their address is 1302 W. Peachtree St., so you are close to the High Museum of Art, lots of great bars and restaurants and in the center of Atlanta's Cultural Arts District. It has an old Hollywood vibe with lots of black and white framed art of music and movie star icons.
