What’s green, near music and loves your pets? The answer is – the Hutton Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. It’s a charming boutique hotel located about 15 minutes from the airport in the West End/Midtown Area. They have a car that can transport you to downtown and you are about 15 minutes away from Music Row. You are also a quick and cheap cab ride away from just about anywhere. The Hutton has been named Nashville’s greenest hotel and I know we as Boomers have become very conscious of this. They have dual flush commodes, a recycling program and bamboo furnishings and flooring.
We all like to stay in shape and this hotel even offers a certain room category called the Cardio King Room. This room comes equipped with its own Elliptical machine, yoga mats and free weights! There is also a small fitness room for those of us who don’t want to splurge on this luxury.
Our Pet Patrol, Susie, will be happy to know that not only is the Hutton pet-friendly, it also comes with a Critter Concierge – gotta’ love it! There are pet beds, water and food bowls and the Critter Concierge will take care of any other needs such as dog walking, grooming and pet spa services. It truly is a dog’s life!
If they treat our pets in this manner, rest assured you will be treated with the best that Southern hospitality has to offer. Comfortable beds, free WiFi, rainfall shower heads, umbrellas in your closet, and a water bottle and chocolates with your turndown service.
What about food, you say? Well, we know that Nashville has some fine restaurants that offer everything from gourmet to southern fried everything, but you can just stay at your hotel and dine in the 1808 Grille and Lounge. Following the “green” theme, you will see reclaimed wood as part of the décor and the food combines the best of southern and world cuisines. My favorite part of this restaurant is the Executive Chef and his credentials. Chef Charles Philip is the Health Chef for the National Foundation for Cancer Research – how cool is that!
Speaking of cool – you’re in Nashville, Music City, home of the Grand Ole Opry. Get out and visit some honky-tonks, tour the Hermitage, former home of Andrew Jackson, tour the Country Music Hall of Fame or visit the Opryland Hotel Gardens. There’s also good shopping and I’m sure you could use a new pair of cowboy boots. These boots are made for walking, so get on down to Nashville and stay at the Hutton Hotel – y’all come back!
