This is a very tiny sushi bar in Tokyo that makes the best sushi in the entire world. It is a 3 time Michelin star winner. The cost of 20 pieces is around 300.00 and they do not take credit cards here! This is not a place you will find California rolls. I have grown to love and even crave sushi and this is the best for just that. There are only 10 seats here, near a subway station, so you can imagine why this is the hardest reservation to make ever. It takes up to a year!
Jiro Ono's counter is where you can also purchase his famous rice vinegar.
Jiro Ono was born in 1925 and started making sushi as a very young boy.
Jiro has been making sushi over 75 years and he truly is a national hero. For that reason, he must get 5 stars. He is a master at perfect sushi. He even massages his Octopus before cooking so it is softer. Jiro is extremely serious at what he does, he also has a humorous side and is found cracking a smile often, I think he is just adorable!
The sushi is exquisite, impeccable and the freshest it can be. Each piece is truly like a piece of true art and watching Jiro is a show in its own.
Blondee Picks:
Jiros akani tuna which is so tender, he marinates in pure soy sauce
Giant tiger prawns
Akagai which are clams
Ikura which I love, salmon
Anything you eat will taste like food heaven for sure....this is a once in a lifetime experience ….excited to hear from you....Blondee
