They also have kitchen rental in the 2,300 square foot shared commercial kitchen. There are so many entrepreneurs who need kitchen space so how fabulous is this.

  5. Freelance Café: Piermont, NY

    $0.00

This is a true family affair and I personally know the family and so adore them! The executive chef, Peter Kelly is truly one of the most respected chefs in the country. His restaurants are so close to Manhattan and are as any of the top ones there. I ate at Freelance so often when I lived in South Nyack. I got to know Peter and others in his family. Ned, his brother is the first person you see when you enter the restaurant and probably the last as you leave. He is so gracious as the man in the front of the house.

  7. The Hermitage: Home and Plantation of a President

    $0.00

Any time you are traveling in or around Nashville, TN, a visit to Andrew Jackson’s home, The Hermitage, is well worth it.  His home is a great window into Jackson’s tumultuous life and presidency.  The house tour is one of the best we’ve experienced.  Our tour guides were in period clothing and were excellent storytellers.  The house is filled with original family artifacts, giving a real idea of what day to day life was like for the wealthy in the 1830’s.  The French landscape wallpaper in the curved center atrium was hand painted in dark shades of blue indigo dating to the period.

America's East Coast Riviera, that's how locals feel about the Hamptons. Then again, there are locals, and locals.  The real locals are the people of Long Island who live in the Hamptons year around.  The other "locals" are rich owners and renters who inhabit from May till September.  New Yorkers, for some strange reason, have come to regard summer as that time between Memorial Day (third Monday in May), and Labor Day, first Monday in September.  So, every piece of action is crammed into three oh so short, super-revved up months of summer.

  13. Coin Shop in Venice, Italy

    $0.00

When we decided to go on our first trip to Europe, Italy was the destination. Being a coin collector, I wanted to look at examples from the large cities we were going to visit- Rome, Florence, and Venice. I asked a fellow collector I had met the previous summer while taking classes at the American Numismatic Association’s Summer Seminar (another story) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, if he had any suggestions. He told me about the Il Mio Hobby Coin Shop in Venice. As a total rookie in world travel, I found it hard to believe I could really find that spot in a land that seemed so far away.

  14. Kinsale and The Old Head Golf Links

    $0.00

Imagine combining the rugged beauty of the Irish coastline with one of the finest and most spectacular golf courses Mother Nature and bundles of money could create.

Then throw in five-star dining and the ability to arrive by helicopter. Well, you’d be forgiven for thinking it all sounds too good to be true.

Yet this was the vision of Irish brothers John and Patrick O’Connor when they purchased the Old Head promontory in 1989 and spent the next decade creating the incredible Old Head Golf Links.

The fact that these links appear to have been there since time immemorial is testament to the O’Connor’s publicity statement which reads that the course is: “In keeping and in harmony with its surroundings” and simply “helping nature to fulfil its potential”.

It may all sound like Irish blarney, but the reality is, it’s all true.

Going to Hawaii is about as far off the beaten path as I have been.  When we had a chance to go to Maui for two weeks, we were “all in.”  We landed in Maui after a 16-hour plane flight.  We could have done it in 3 less flying hours for not too much more money, which will happen next time we go. It took a couple of days for our internal clocks to adjust to the time zone difference.  Our home base was in a resort area in Lahaina.
