Hong Kong is also host to some of the world’s finest cuisines and chefs. As a taste the InterContinental boasts three Michelin-starred restaurants, one of which is Alain Ducasse’s Spoon. The Four Seasons houses two top rated restaurants: the Caprice, a Parisian delight, and Lung King Heen, Hong Kong’s most established Cantonese eatery.

For sheer indulgence, a stay at the opulent Peninsula for its historic character, or the urban sanctuary of the Island Shangri-La hotel is a must. Otherwise, the ultra-contemporary Upper House hotel located on Hong Kong Island is a chic option. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle but still retain the luxury of the city hotels the Tai O Heritage on Lantau Island is the answer.

Shopaholics and fashionistas should visit the up-market shopping centers in the Central District. High-end designers such as Louis Vuitton, Dior and Gucci can be found here at the Landmark, Alexandra House, Chater House and Prince’s Building. For antique lovers, a trip down Hollywood Road to discover hidden treasures is a must. A stroll through Stanley Market for traditional Chinese silk garments is something not to be missed either.

For the best nightlife venture to Wan Chai or Lan Kwai Fong in the Central District, which provide an assortment of entertainment to suit all tastes. For the trendiest and most popular clubs in the area, try Magnum and Billion. Sevva bar (on top of Prince’s Building in the Central District) has a fantastic terrace which overlooks Lord Foster’s HSBC building and IM Pei’s Bank of China. For those who fancy a water adventure, a luxury dinner cruise around the Hong Kong harbor might be the ticket. Also, at 8pm every evening laser lights dance across the Hong Kong skyline; for the best views hop on a star ferry to Kowloon and soak in the show from the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront.

As a destination offering luxurious decadence combined with the riches of a vibrant local and ancient culture, Hong Kong is the place. It stimulates all of the senses and offers an experience like no other.
