Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen: Beaumont, Texas

$0.00

Quick Overview

While on a family emergency trip to Beaumont, Texas, we had the fortune of finding the Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen which was at the same exit as our hotel.  Pappadeaux’s is a small chain based out of Houston, Texas.  The restaurant concept was founded by the Pappas brothers who have created a group of different small restaurant chains that serve seafood, Italian cuisine, Mexican cuisine, steaks, BBQ and burgers. They had their start in Houston in 1967 with the opening of The Brisket House in Houston.

We went to the restaurant for lunch on one of the days that we were in Beaumont, and would have returned again if we had more time in town. Everything about the place was amazing from the décor which was warm and inviting, the attentive and excellent staff, as well as the excellent food.

Pappadeaux’s has a seafood/Cajun theme and the restaurant welcomed us with gardens with beautiful foliage and an interior that matched the theme with warmth and gusto.

We were seated quickly and our waiter, Barron, was johnny-on-the-spot, to both make us feel welcome as well as to get us our menus and drinks. It was obvious from observing the other operations in the establishment that this was a well-run operation.

I ordered oysters on the half shell for an appetizer. The oysters were excellent and perfectly chilled. The seafood sauce and extra horseradish provided with the oysters was also absolutely perfection.

I enjoyed a plate of fried shrimp and French fries and Theresa ordered the chopped salad with chicken. The Cajun dressing provided with the salad was excellent and not overly spicy. The shrimp and fries were also excellent.

We topped off our lunch with a piece of Bayou City Cake, a chocolate cake, pictured in the attached photos.

I spoke briefly to the General Manager, Jason Black, and let him know how impressed we were with the restaurant. This was one of the best run operations from top to bottom that I have ever seen, and well worth the effort of the visit.

I also discovered that there is a Pappadeaux’s Seafood Kitchen in Cincinnati, Ohio which is not far from our home in Louisville. We plan to make the trip there this Spring to enjoy the food and atmosphere again and will write a follow up piece on our experience there.

If you are in Beaumont this is an excellent choice, especially if you love seafood .
