There’s an art deco/neon sign kind of vibe – very funky and cool and very George Jetson! This is such a find in St. Louis that it’s worth a trip to this city even if you have no reason to be there. Now, there’s plenty to see in St. Louis, so I’m sure you will want to visit anyway.

This hotel opened in 2009 in the Delmar Loop area and is near Forest Park, which opened in 1876, has 45,000 trees and was the host of the 1904 World’s Fair. It is also a place to hike, bike, golf, go bird watching or boating. See, another reason to visit!

Well, let’s get back to the hotel. In addition to the rooms, there are 10 Walk of Fame Suites named after such stars as Betty Grable, Agnes Moorehead and Tennessee Williams to name a few. Each suite comes with Euro Top beds, luxury linens, mini-fridge, sofa, director’s chair and dining table with four chairs. All the rooms have free WiFi , Cuisinart coffee makers, Wolfgang Puck coffee and white noise machines. Of course, there are flat screen TVs, but I think there is enough to do here that you may never even turn them on.

What else is fabulous about this property? How about the fact that it’s Green – they recycle, donate leftover soaps and food, participate in Green events and so much more. Speaking of more, the Moonrise Hotel is also pet-friendly. There is a one time fee of $40, but it includes a litter box for cats, house made treats, a dog or cat bed, bandanna, food and water bowls and a souvenir collar. There are 25 stores in the area that allow pets and many restaurants allow them with you on their patios. Your furry friends will love it here!

When you venture out, you will find that you are also near the Zoo, Art Museum and Muny Outdoor Opera Amphitheater. A short hop on the Metrolink will take you downtown.

Back at the hotel, you will find a 24-hour fitness center, a Rooftop Terrace Bar and New Moon Room Indoor/Outdoor Lounge - all very retro, but modern at the same time.

The Eclipse Restaurant sources local and organic ingredients and serves classic cocktails with a twist.

Also in the area is the famous Pageant, built in 1915 and one of the major concert venues in the country. If that wasn’t enough, there is a 1920’s movie theatre and a Retro Bowling Alley!

Come on, pick up the phone and make a reservation – it doesn’t get much better than this!
