Nashville gives us the best stars and legends in country music and they also give us restaurants that are legends and stars…..The Victorian Home restaurant named Jimmy Kelly’s is on the top of that list!
This restaurant has stayed alive since 1934. It is on its 3rd generation with Mike Kelly at the top. He was born into this restaurant history and he is exactly what his grandfather and father would have wanted. His warm smile welcomes you the moment you walk through the front door. I love their philosophy way back from his grandfather, uncle and father “ give a guest a great steak, a generous portion of whiskey and attentive service”. They gave us all 3 and more!
This is old southern charm, classic, a “must have” in American dining. There are separate dining areas, an outside porch area, a sparkling fireplace and a happening bar, all having dark beautiful woods throughout, very select art pieces. We were lucky to be in a private dining area where we received royal treatment, (servers are dressed in white jackets, dressed form head to toe to a “T”) and you would have that treatment in any chair you sit in any of the dining areas!

Of course you must start with their famous corncakes, crabcakes with cajun sauce and fried onion rings (we had quite a few people).
For salad I had to order the Buster’s Tomato Salad ( that is my dad’s nickname)
Entrée:
Mustard grilled Rack of Lamb with mint jelly
Mixed Grill ( being a Boomer and a woman, it is sometimes hard to decide) half of a Filet, Salmon and Jumbo Shrimp ( so sweet)

When I go to eat in Nashville next time, I will come here to be in Food Heaven, my only request is to have Tim McGraw singing to me while I am eating my steak!
