Quick Overview

The Red Lion Inn has been taking care of travelers of all ages (a lot of boomers visit) for over 200 years! It is the oldest Inn in the United States and New England still running. This is a place you want to have the magical luxury of visiting at least one time in your life. I have visited at least 50 times!!!! It will take you back to a different time in history. As you sit in the rocking chairs on the long porch you will glance down the street and feel as though Norman Rockwell is sitting right next to you. He lived right down the street. The Fitzpatrick’s bought the inn in 1968 and their daughter, Nancy is now the 2nd generation hotelier. I have had many visits with the owners through the years and always asked about the special antiques spread throughout and the charming collection of tea pots surrounding the entire dining room that were dear to Mrs. Fitzpatrick.

The Dining Room: The dining room has an elegance feel with white tablecloths, fresh flowers and impeccable service, even when it is packed and very busy. There is also a casual Tavern, Pub and outside seating when the weather becomes warmer. Brian Alberg is the executive chef and he loves to feature contemporary cuisine that compliments this regional history. He uses a lot of local products and is very friendly. You will see him walking through a lot.

Blondee’s picks: Love breakfast and have had many here…. Blueberry pancakes or toasted bagel with Atlantic salmon Lunch: Hand carved turkey sandwich with farmhouse stuffing, local greens & cranberry mayonnaise Dinner: Grilled Berkshire pork loin with collard greens, bbq demi & crispy onions Dessert: Warm brown sugar cake with coffee ice cream and caramel sauce YUM! Wine sommelier is Dan Thomas and he has picked an award wining wine selection….of course you should try the The Red Lion chardonnay.

Blondee’s Powder Room Check: Always so clean and adorable…country feeling.

This is a place I sometimes day dream about, especially during October when fall foliage is upon you….alot of WOWS about the beauty surrounding this magical place. Excited to hear from you….Blondee
