When visiting Salzburg, it is appropriate to stay in a Schloss.  The Hotel Schloss Mönchstein, located just above the city center, offers an exquisite view of Salzburg.  The Monchberg lift, just steps from the hotel, will take you to the Hohensalzburg Fortress, one of the largest medieval castles in Europe.  The Schloss Monchstein also boasts the smallest restaurant in the world, serving, at most, four people.  The restaurant occupies the tower of the castle and is an ideal setting for a romantic dinner for two.

Originally a summer home for the Archbishop of Salzburg, the Hotel Schloss Fuschl Resort and Spa was constructed in 1450.  Renovated in 1977 and 2006, the Schloss includes 110 elegant rooms, including seven luxury Tower Suites.  The resort features a golf course, lake, beach, spa, and a collection of antique automobiles.  Surrounded by 30 acres of lush greenery, the Schloss Fuschl faces the magnificent snow-capped Alps and Lake Fuschl.

Located in the Baroque center of Salzburg, in the famous Getreidegasse, is the Hotel Goldener Hirsch.  The Getreidegasse is the main shopping district in the “Old Town” city center.  This quaint hotel, with 69 rooms, has kept the character of an elegant private home.  The Goldener Hirsch is decorated in romantic, 15th century Austrian style and updated with state-of-the-art amenities.  This hotel harmoniously combines tradition and style.

The city’s Grand Hotel is the Hotel Sacher Salzburg.  Since 1866, it has been the center of the city’s social life.  Guests include members of reigning Houses, aristocrats, scientists, poets, actors, and artists.  The hotel is close to the Hohensalzburg Castle, founded in 1077.  Atop the Festungsberg Mountain, the fortress can be seen from almost any point in the city.  This luxurious hotel offers the perfect backdrop for your next adventure.
