The only words to describe Beau are “too cute!” Of course Susie calls him the “little dickens.” This may turn into a Lucy/Linus relationship because Susie says that she is the boss, but only time will tell. Needless to say we are all excited at the Boomer Travel Patrol to have a new member of the team, especially one so cute and full of mischief.
Beau was born on December 19, 2022 in La Grange, Kentucky in a litter of six puppies. There are four little boys and two girls in the litter. The litter names of the boys are Hershey (Beau), Bright, Swagger Jr., and Donner. The girls are Luna and Elsa. Beau’s mother is Fancy and his dad is Swagger. Fancy is a Tri and Swagger is a blue merle. You can see more about the wonderful dogs in Beau’s family at the Alangus Aussies website, their blog and their Facebook page.
Beau will be registered with the AKC as a Miniature American Shepherd, a new name for miniature Aussies. Of course we will call him Beau or as his new mommy says, Beauregard, when he is bad. His full registered name will be Alangus Hershey Gen. P.G.T. Beauregard, since like his sister Susie from Georgia, he is a southern boy.
Both of his parents Fancy and Swagger, are International Champions. He has the honor of being in Swagger’s first sired litter. He has the same sweet demeanor as his mother already and a glint of mischief in his eyes from his dad.
Beau will be in basic puppy training for the next four weeks until he is eight weeks old, when he will leave the litter and come under the command of Sergeant Susie of the Pet Patrol. He will be coming to his new home on Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2014. Susie has big plans for him in helping her with her duties at the patrol and making sure he is properly trained to become a Canine Good Citizen like her and also possibly a therapy dog as well. He will definitely have his work cut out for him.
His daddy also wants to be sure that he has a great puppyhood, so he has plenty of toys waiting for him in and around his crate. Susie says that she will teach him how to deal with the tattle-tale toys and keep them in line with her.
All in all it will be great fun both having him on the team both at home and on the road with the patrol.
