How would you feel about going to an amusement park where you, your kids and grandkids could participate, and ride on every ride regardless of mobility or other disability issues? Well, Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio Texas is just the place. The amusement park was built specifically for those who have mobility, sensory, sight, hearing and intellectual challenges join in a fun day. The focus is not to be especially for special needs people, but to be inclusive for EVERYONE.
What is so special about Morgan’s Wonderland? Well, to start out there are lots of ramps and smooth sidewalks instead of steps. It is very easy to navigate with a mobility scooter, Power Wheelchair or manual wheelchair. The bathrooms have plenty of Handicapped stalls. There are great paths to explore, throughout the entire park and… the rides are wheelchair accessible.
Morgan’s Wonderland is also a feast for the senses. They have a sensory garden, and are opening up a huge new Water park that will focus on different sensory exploration. Morgan’s encourages touching, smelling, tasting, and experiencing the park in as many ways as possible.
By the way, the staff who work at Morgan’s Wonderfland go through extensive training to be both helpful, and handle special situations. The inclusive atmosphere, and pure joy of the park is something to experience.
