Need ideas for an affordable vacation for the whole family? Look no further and consider visiting the Mohican National State Park Lodge in Ohio. There are plenty of things to do for every generation and in every budget.
The Lodge is located in the heart of the beautiful Mohican State Park. Facing a lake and surrounded by the Park, it is hard to imagine a more picturesque and intimate location with no other buildings to obstruct the view.
The lodge itself looks rustic and inviting on the outside. The inside is cozy and relaxing.
The amenities include an indoor and outdoor pool, 24-hour exercise room, a game room and a pool table.
There are a few things that set the lodge apart. For one, it was built with accessibility and special needs in mind. It has ramps and easy access for wheelchairs.
It is also an eco-conscious property, with little things that add up to saving energy and the environment. For example there are water fountains with bottle-filling stations in the hallways. To decrease water and reduce waste in the rooms there are water-saving showers and permanently fixed full-size dispensers of products instead of disposable toiletries.
Attractions
The Lodge itself has something for every member of the family. Everyone can enjoy taking walks and enjoying beautiful views. Along the walking path, there are benches and gazeboes so you can relax or take pictures.
If you choose to stay inside you can still enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Lake from the Aerie, while warming up by the fireplace, or in one of the Solaria located on each floor. The views are truly spectacular and people gather each evening to view the magnificent sunsets.
Apart from the outdoor and indoor pools, there are 3 courts for playing tennis, volleyball or basketball on the property.
Our grandkids can play outside in the playground. There are also other activities they would very much enjoy, like the Birds of Prey show every Saturday at 7pm (April-November).

Food
Bromfield's Dining Room is a great restaurant located on the first floor of the Lodge. The restaurant features a breakfast buffet and an extensive menu of delicious dishes for lunch and dinner. Everyone including those with food allergies and special diets will find something to satisfy their hunger.
There is also The Boxer's Lounge for a more casual, relaxed atmosphere serving pizza and a limited menu in addition to beer and cocktails.
Things to do
With 11 major sites in the Mohican State Park, each offering different attractions for the whole family, it is guaranteed everyone will find something to peak their interest.
For baby boomers who enjoy wildlife and birding there are literally hundreds of miles of hiking trails, with a unique biodiversity (over 20 warbler species alone!!!).
Children will enjoy hands-on animals, bird, snake and other creature presentations, arts and crafts and fun classes in activities offered at every Park Site.
For adventure and sport enthusiasts, there are golf courses, zip lines, and canoe rides. Boating tours are also available.
