Mango Street Inn: Ft. Myers Beach, Florida

$0.00

Quick Overview

It's always great fun to tell you about these hidden treasures that I find in various locations. This one happens to be in sunny Florida – Ft. Myers to be exact. I find the gulf side to be more serene and I am partial to white sand.

I am also partial to great hospitality and that's exactly what you'll find at the Mango Street Inn. Here you arrive as a guest, but leave as a friend and let's face it, as Boomers, these types of experiences sometimes mean more than fancy amenities.

You are a few blocks from the beach, but you can borrow bicycles and they provide wagons for you to tote beach chairs, coolers and umbrellas. You are also within walking distance to the Times Square area of Ft. Myers Beach and frankly, the exercise will be good for you.

One of the joys of travel is meeting new people and at the Mango Street Inn there is a great spot to mingle with other guests around the Fire Pit.

There are six suites at this B&B, but seem more like small apartments. There are 4 one bedroom units and 2 two bedroom units. They all have full kitchens, cable and free WiFi.

Your hosts are Dan and Tree and they are the reason people come back year after year – remember that if you want to book this property – think far ahead. Also, this is a Bed and Breakfast, so you are in for a real treat every morning to see what trained chef Dan cooks up for the guests.

The hosts have a dog and cats, so if you have a well behaved pet, mention it and they are also welcome.

There are lots of great restaurants in the area that are beachfront and waterfront – nothing like dining on fresh seafood and gazing out to the Gulf. You can explore by taking boat tours, fishing charters or spend a day in the Everglades. Try Paddleboarding or take a Kayak Nature Tour. One of my favorite activities is shopping, and nearby is Miromar Outlets with high end stores and lots of bargains. There is also a Tanger Outlet in the area. Lots of other boutiques, art galleries and malls can be found – just ask your hosts for information.

They are located about 30 minutes from Ft. Myers airport or if you drive down, there is plenty of free parking.

Do yourself a favor and make some friends and memories at the Mango Street Inn, you'll thank us for telling you about it!
