Island Patrol - Don

Don comes to us from Freeport, Grand Bahama in The Bahamas. Although he was born in Nassau, New Providence, he has made, Freeport, Grand Bahama his home and has lived there since graduating from university.

Although a Chemist with experience in the chemical manufacturing field, Don has had a successful career in the Hospitality Industry. He has been on the management team at the Bahamas Princess Resort and Casino and the Royal Oasis Golf Resort and Casino for over fourteen (14) years, where he has served as Regional Director of Human Resources and Regional Director of Public Relations, among other management positions. During this period, he participated in the marketing of the resort and the island by being part of teams that conducted sales blitzes in targeted cities in the United States during the “Laker Airways” era.   He also hosted photo-shoots and various media houses that conducted live broadcasts from the resort back to their home cities, particularly during the winter months. He has also served as the Vice President of Human Resources at the Old Bahama Bay Resort and Yacht Harbour in West End, Grand Bahama for over (6) years

Don has a B. Sc. Degree in Chemistry and an MBA degree. He is the recipient of the Cacique Award, his country’s highest award for excellence in the Tourism Industry, for Human Resources Development. He is a Past Assistant District Governor and Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary, spent many years working with young people in Junior Achievement and enjoys music and golf. He and his wife have two sons.
