Many of us love staying at the beach and many of us also love a good bargain. It’s usually quite hard to find a bargain at the beach, but thanks to our sharp eyes at the Boomer Travel Patrol, we found the best of both worlds!

Welcome to the Beachcomber Beach Resort & Hotel with 5 and a half acres of lush tropical gardens and a private white sand beach. Most of the rooms do not face the water except for a few efficiencies, so if that’s a factor, be sure to ask before you book a room. That being said, facing the pool or the gardens is a wonderful option and you only need to take a few steps to put your toes in the sand.

There are many perks to staying at this property beside the price. They have 2 heated swimming pools, free parking, flat screen TVs with free HBO, free WiFi, DVD players, coffee makers, fridge, and comfy beds. The efficiencies come equipped with kitchen facilities and there are NO resort fees, which is a fee becoming very commonplace these days at most resorts.

They have a fitness facility and offer free use of the amenities at their sister property, the Grand Plaza Beachfront Resort, a short 10 blocks away.

Back at the Beachcomber, you will find a Sports Bar and Jimmy B’s Beach Bar with outdoor dining. If you are feeling the beach vacation vibe, you can drink and dance until 3AM 7 days a week. If the bones are beginning to creak, then leave early, but make sure your room is one facing the tropical garden area so the noise doesn’t keep you awake.

The location of this hotel is great for shopping, nightlife, restaurants and museums. There are golf courses nearby, snorkeling and you are about a 30 minute drive to Busch Gardens.

Head downtown to Beach Drive and watch the parade of people strolling by from the vantage point of your bar or restaurant. Craft beers are popping up all over and this area is no exception, check with your hotel regarding the Craft Beer Trail. If you enjoy antiquing, visit Central Avenue downtown.

St. Petersburg is home to 150 city parks, pack a picnic lunch and go visit one or two of them. Of course, there is always the water, so rent a kayak or boat. Fishing is great here, so sign up for a fishing charter. The options are endless.

You see, there is plenty to do at St. Pete Beach, so why not go and stay at the Beachcomber Beach Resort – it’s a bargain!
