Here's my question – do you think you can stay in a boutique hotel in mid-town Atlanta for under $200? The answer is a resounding YES! Now is it going to be 5 star – no, but how about 3 star in the best possible way? Check yourself into the Artmore Hotel built in 1924, sitting among the high rise buildings across from a MARTA station. Their address is 1302 W. Peachtree St., so you are close to the High Museum of Art, lots of great bars and restaurants and in the center of Atlanta's Cultural Arts District. It has an old Hollywood vibe with lots of black and white framed art of music and movie star icons.
The staff is friendly, and depending on the type of room you are assigned, the beds tend to be a bit hard and the bathrooms a bit small, however, I was told they have been renovated, so perhaps they will seem a bit bigger now. Don't forget, you are getting great value in a prime location.
There is free Wifi and a mini-Keurig in the room, but be forewarned, there is a $2 charge per K-cup. A buffet breakfast is served for a fee of $10 unless you book a package which includes the cost.
There is much to see and do in Atlanta and you are near all the major attractions. There is the CNN Center, World of Coca Cola, the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta Botanical Garden and Centennial Olympic Park, to name a few.
Not far is Buckhead, and a visit to the Virginia Highlands and Little Five Points should be on your list as well.
The crown jewel of the Artmore is their lovely courtyard with a beautiful fountain and great firepit at night. It's a wonderful place to sit around with coffee or cocktails and enjoy the ambiance. Another fabulous area off the lobby is the Studio Bar and Lounge, a modern, cozy spot to start or end your evening.
If you are a pet owner, you will be happy to know that this property is also pet-friendly and with Piedmont Park nearby, it will make both you and your pet very happy.
Accommodations range from King, Queen, 2 Queens, Suites and Split level suites with a total of 102 rooms. Other amenities include business and fitness centers. There are other athletic activities nearby.
So pack up yourself and your furry friends and head to Atlanta for the best bargain in town!
