Who, of any of us, would not want to go to a place where you hear complete quiet, decompress and enjoy nature? It is so good for all of us, if even for just 2 days.
The town is Ojai, which is under one hour from LA. This is a place you can go and read by the fire, go for a true fresh air hike, or play fun games and cards. Sipping coffee or pouring some fabulous wine and just taking lots of deep breaths are what is good for boomers everywhere. On the east coast I have many times driven 3 hours to get this and here you can drive 45 minutes away. There are places of Ojai you might not even have cell phone service...oh well it’s all good, it’s all healthy.
Farmer and the Cook has a cafe and a marketplace. Steve and Olivia wanted to have a farm and market so everyone could afford to eat organic. Years later they now have a daily cafe, a weekend farm cafe, Gozo farm and a small grocery store. This dynamic couple is so involved in this special community and they are true gems.
Blondee Picks:
Soup, homemade breads, guacamole with fresh chips, yum!
Squash and goat cheese tacos
On Friday and Saturday nights the market cafe turns into a restaurant.
An organic breakfast is served Saturday and Sundays and they serve my favorite, quiche.
It is fun to pick up homemade jams, soups etc at the market and take back to your home you are renting or your room.
Ojai Valley Inn Spa is a great place to book a room, a massage and a facial.
