Fall Colour Tour in Muskoka Ontario

$0.00

Quick Overview

From Six Mile Lake Provincial Park

To Oastler Lake Provincial Park, Parry Sound

Scenic route driving distance:  148  KM

I woke up early and chilled.  It got good and cold overnight, and feeling chilly is what woke me up.  I think I should have used both sleeping bags…but when I fell asleep it was not that cool.  Since I was already awake I decided to get up. It was still dark!

Fall Colour Tour in Muskoka Ontario

2014 - 09 - 25

From Six Mile Lake Provincial Park

To Oastler Lake Provincial Park, Parry Sound

Scenic route driving distance:  148  KM

In the dark of predawn I got ready for another amazing day exploring fall colours in Muskoka.  It started with some sky watching, the bright planets and the sunrise on the beach, such lovely shades of orange.

In Port Severn I enjoyed views of Little lake and the Locks and the rocky rapids.

In Port Severn Park I enjoyed another view to Little Lake, running along a stone wall and the sounds of a woodpecker in a nearby tree.

On Country Road 33  I was unable to find Gibson River Provincial Park on. But I did find a boat launch site with a lovely view to Gibson Lake.

A scenic drive to Three Legged Lake gave me several opportunities to snap some pictures.

In Parry Sound I stopped to see the Railway Bridge across the harbour.

At Rose Point I got to drive over the single lane swing bridge to Parry Island.

On Parry Island, which is Ojibway (Wasauking) First Nation land, I drove down a few roads to enjoy the scenery.

From Pleasant Point I had a lovely view across Parry Sound Bay.

My stop at the “Lookout Tower” by the Parry Sound Historical Museum was exhilarating as I climbed to the top for an amazing view to the Bay and surrounding areas.

Parry Sound harbour, is a lovely place to enjoy a stroll along the pier and to enjoy the view.

Boat tours to the 30,000 Islands are available from the harbour for those interested in exploring the islands.

My campground for the evening was the nearby Oastler Lake Provincial Park.  From the waterfront there was a gorgeous view to the lake and the setting sun.
