Once again Susie has been pointed to another place focusing on dogs – deep in the heart of Texas. The Decker Creek Bed and Breakfast and Biscuit is located on Decker Lake Road about 14 miles east of Austin.

Unfortunately there are only two cabins for rent, so reservations should be made well in advance to guarantee accommodations.  Conveniently the proprietors have a calendar posted on their web site that shows which days are already booked so you can get a good idea of your time options.

For the human visitors you will be treated by a cabin that has a screened-in porch, fenced yard, kitchen, patio, grill and whirlpool tub along with many other amenities.  Your dogs are provided with dog bowls, towels (Beau and Susie love their towels), beds and if needed, crates. They also are provided a supply of homemade dog biscuits. A full country breakfast is provided each morning from local farms.

There is plenty of room to roam with lots of activities available in the area such as golf, canoeing and trail rides. If you have a horse, there is boarding across the road.

Austin is also only 14 miles away with many more options and of course known for excellent music.

The B&B is owned and operated by Pat and Byron Rathbun and their three dogs – Beau, Razr and Shiva.

The two cabins are “Hilltop” and “Treehouse.” Hilltop is located 300 feet from the Rathbun’s home and “Treehouse” is down the hill away from the road about 200 feet from “Hilltop” and is surrounded by trees.
