A little pricey, worth it!
This small, classy restaurant is placed right in the center of St. Helena, right in the middle of the wine country. This charming town is so much fun to stroll through all of the shops, galleries and restaurants. Cook is owned by Jude Wilmoth and Michael Wilmoth (brothers).
I was pulled in from the street by the simplicity of their logo cook. Clean lines, neutrals are throughout this prize. There is a very welcoming bar which you can dine at too. As you follow my writings you will find, I love sitting at bars too . There is always such excitement of the conversations and people you can meet. I glanced at the food presentations on each plate as I walked to my seat. They were flawless. I could tell this is the perfect place for a special lunch or a romantic dinner. It was so much fun to talk to the chef and all of their lovely staff. I felt very welcome and completely relaxed!
The cuisine here is Italian and the ingredients are so pure. Being right in the middle of the wine country you must have an amazing wine list. They sure do. The average glass is 11.00. My choice was the Volpia Chianti, 2009.

Fried calamari, aioli and grilled lemon
Handmade mozzarella. roasted red pepperonata and pickled pardon peppers
Black Cod with beets. fingerling potatoes, blood orange vinaigrette
Grilled flat iron steak with cauliflower, potato gratin and black truffle sangiovese pan sauce.
After you are finished with this experience stroll, skip or run to Woodhouse Chocolate for some beautiful handmade chocolates. As a boomer possibly one piece would be good, oh go ahead and have 2!
