Chez L Epicier is nestled in the quaint part le Vieux Montreal which makes it extra special.

I love when you can go to a place to dine and they have fabulous Quebec specialty products to buy; including the owners own product line! Laurent Godbout, chef and owner truly stands out for his culinary style. He grew up in Czech Republic. He has gained a lot of media attention for his French, Spanish and Asian classic and modern techniques. Godbout researches contrast, color and texture of food. His menu changes 4 times a year.

The restaurant has high ceilings which makes it very airy and has huge windows. The tables are simplistic, white tablecloths and blue accents. There is a lot of brick exposure, which reminds me of a lot of the buildings architecture in Manhattan. The walls have spice jars and trinkets (most boomers grew up with trinkets right?)

Blondee’s picks:

There are over 250 labels of wine and almost 1,800 bottles You will find the perfect one here. Note* they do have vegetarian options. Soup hot broth with lemongrass Almond crust seized grouper steak, mashed cauliflower with tarragon, crispy vegetable chips Have you ever heard of this for dessert? Flaming crème brulee and marshmallow skewers!!!!
