Jeep Tours are a must-do for you and the grandkids. Pink Jeep Tours and other companies deliver great off-road adventure as you fly over boulders and explore the sandstone petroglyphs. They’re not only fun, but educational as tour guides explain the different red rock formations, talk about the history of Sedona and point out the desert vegetation and animals. I recommend Pink Jeep’s two-hour Broken Arrow Tour, which features 2 miles of scenic beauty with plenty of off-road acrobatics. Great for getting teens to unplug from their cell phones. (Ask about the AAA discount.) Hop on and off the Sedona Trolley Tour to get the lay of the land between Oak Creek and West Sedona. Spend a “Day in the West” for horseback riding. Slide Rock State Park provides easy hiking trails along the creek and chance to explore nature. Kids aged 6 – 12 can participate in the Junior Ranger program. Heading to the Grand Canyon? Check out tours via air or shuttle that leave from Sedona.
