Comparatively speaking, the state of Israel is the size of New Jersey. Jerusalem is located in the central part of Israel, 45 minutes south east from Tel Aviv. Traveling from the most northern city to the southern most, Eilat, will take you about five hours, so most spend a few nights in Jerusalem.
