Villa Urbani: Rome

$0.00

Quick Overview

I feel like I need to whisper about this property, because it's a secret that I'm about to reveal. Assuming you have traveled to Rome in the past and have stayed in the center of it all, here’s a real jewel about 30 minutes away from the action. The Villa Urbani is nestled on a residential street about 15 minutes from the Trastevere area. It is a Villa that dates from the 1900's and is still a family residence that has been partially converted into a Bed and Breakfast.

The owner, Laura, is a real lover of art and music who hosts concerts from time to time and will invite you if you happen to be lucky enough to be there at that time. In fact, there is a piano in the salon area where your free buffet breakfast is served. Guests are invited and encouraged to play, so brush up on your skills.

The B&B has only 3 rooms – The Red and Gray Suite with an Asian inspired design; the Gold Room, classic and modern in its décor, and the Orange Room, similar to the Gold Room with a bit of Art Deco style. All the rooms have free WiFi, a TV and private bath.

There is a side Terrace with tables and chairs to enjoy a libation or good conversation with the other guests.

Public transportation is nearby and you are about a 15 minute walk to the restaurants and shops in Trastevere and about a 30 minute walk to St. Peter's.

The owner can arrange shuttle service to the airport, a personal tour guide to take in the sights and tickets to any events in Rome. After you've walked the streets (in comfortable shoes), come back to the Villa to the cozy lounge area with a fireplace to read about where you've been or choose something from the large selection of newspapers, magazines and books that are available.

Have some fun exploring – if you happen to be around on a Sunday, go to the end of Viale Trastavere for one of Europe's largest flea markets where antique vendors set up and give great bargains if you know how to haggle. In the Trastavere area is the best place for Blues and Jazz, Big Mama, which has been around for 25 years and hosts Italian and international artists, but don't get there before 10PM.

Come back to your home in Rome, because it does make you feel like you are a local when you stay here.

Villa Urbani is located just outside the city center where the districts of Janiculum, Monteverde Vecchio and Trastavere meet. Go to Google Maps at the bottom of our home page to see the exact location.

The rates are reasonable and the experience is magical.
