Chef Mavro was born in Marseilles, the capital of Provence. The moment he arrived over 20 years ago in Hawaii, he knew this was home for him. It was that feeling, the experience he felt immediately. As I researched about this chef, my favorite photo of him is the fruit tree one. It says a lot about him.
He is quite famous for his French, American, Asian twists on his food and wine pairings. He is loved by the locals, the farmers, the fishermen and people who visit his amazing restaurant from around the world. I so adore and love the fact that Mavro is involved constantly in bringing knowledge and help to young chefs. His life is so busy and yet he always finds time to help others. His list of awards is very long and impressive. He buys the freshest, he buys local treats all products with great respect, always have new, creative ideas and recipes.
When you enter, you will feel such a calming with the décor and colors. There also is an elegance here, I think it is just plain exciting to be here, you are in Hawaii - can't get much better than that!
Mavro flies truffles in from France - that is class!
